HARMONIE INTERIEUR

SELF EXPOSED TALES

The imagery tells a story about a particular moment
in my life or feeling that I have explored for which I needed to create

a marker
or symbol.

That marker becomes a sort of
sacred totem.

VISUAL
DIARY

I need a visual diary of my life to help keep me on track and to work through certain events and issues.
It is in my nature to be a huggermugger
and to keep a cloak and dagger attitude with certain information.
I cannot help but hide meanings and messages to myself in my art.
I like a good secret. Even from myself.

COLLAGE IS
THE PERFECT MEDIUM

It allows me to layer the thoughts and images
upon which

I build my story.
I often create small shadow boxes or still lifes and then greatly enlarge their image.
After changing the scale, I collage on top of the images with
text, metal and organic materials.
I enjoy experimenting with different mediums.
I find the juxtaposition between organic and manmade elements extremely interesting
and because I usually work on several bodies of work concurrently,
certain ideas or images often cross pollinate
and flow into each other.
